Film Posters offer a visual advertisement; they manage show a lot without saying very much at all. Every part of a film poster is subtly trying to sell a film to its audience, and is marketed in a way to attract that audience, for example action films use powerful central images to appeal to male audiences who admire such imagery. The poster is part of a brand and therefore certain elements, such as the title, will match other pieces of media so as to be instantly recognisable to an audience.
