Our Chosen Production

Our media piece will be called VIGILANTE; a British dark comedy that we envisioned as being Harry Brown meets Defendor meets the slacker generation.

The film features a duo of slackers turned vigilantes who decide to take the law into their own hands to clean the streets from the local gang that terrorizes it, inspired by their favourite comic book heroes.

The film would have chronicled their exploits and misadventures as they struggle to bring some order to their home, despite having no skills to do so and no idea of what to do!

It is very important that our trailer and poster come together to display the trademarks of the film that we want to showcase, those being the humour, the action and the interaction between the two major characters, which we decided would be vital to the success of the trailer, it was also important to us that the plot remained vague enough so that it was not ruined so the audience would want to go see the film.

We also felt that for this trailer the story would be less of an interest for our targeted audience than the gags and action. Finally we wanted to take the conventions of older "superhero" fiction and turn it on its head, as we wanted there to be references for an older audience to get.
